If you’ve been waiting to bolster your Amiibo collection, now looks to be a good time to pick a few more up, as retailers Best Buy and GameStop have begun discounting some of the more common figures in Wave 1 of releases.
According to the retailers’ online stores, the Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Peach Amiibo have all been reduced from $12.99 to $9.99. While not a significant drop in price, it could be enough to sway some fans to finally jump on the more common figures. There has been no word on how long these price drops will last, so it’d be best to act fast if you want any of these collectibles.
What are your thoughts on Nintendo’s line of Amiibo figures? Have you been actively hunting them down, or has their implementation in games left you uninterested? Let us know in the comments!

How they’ve been distributing them (in Canada, anyway) has been… curious. We already know that Metaknight and Shulk will be impossible to get if you didn’t preorder – Best Buy and EB have outright said that they expect to be sending 0 non-preorder ones to stores – but all of the rest of wave 3 have been in tiny, random bursts. Rareish ones like Rosalina (which isn’t an exclusive here, thanks to the implosion of Target Canada), Ike, and Mega Man have consistently been stores getting between 2 and 6 of each of them in any random shipment, and you just have to hope you’re at the store when they show up. Sheik and Toon Link were basically impossible to find up until late last week when they both switched over to almost everywhere has them. And then you have wave one commons (well, just Link) starting to vanish from places.
So far I have Yoshi, Pikachu, Ike, Rosalina, Bowser, Samus, Sheik, Sonic, Toon Link, Link, and two Mega Man. I’ll be trolling a Toys R Us at opening tomorrow morning; an employee at one told me they’ll have a fresh batch of Lucario and Fox.
