Two more classic Game Boy Advance games are set to hit the Japanese Wii U Virtual Console from next week. According to the Japanese Nintendo website, the titles will be available for 702 Yen, or roughly $6 USD. Sonic Advance was the first major Sonic game to see release on a Nintendo system after the demise of the Sega Dreamcast, and was widely regarded as one of the system’s more successful platformers, with a Metacritic score of 87 percent.
Originally a very late release for the Super Famicom (arriving midway through 1998 for Japanese audiences), Mega Man & Bass was localised for the west for Game Boy Advance in 2002. This game wasn’t a numbered installment in the Mega Man franchise, but allowed the player to take control of either Capcom’s biggest hero or his rival, Bass to take on a powerful enemy known as King. It currently holds a Metacritic score of 79 percent.
The release of these handheld classics surely bodes well for potential North American and European releases in the future.
