As you can probably tell, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is a pretty huge game on its own, but that hasn’t stopped Capcom from expanding it with various DLC packs. The first of the bunch is already available with the day one patch. Titled “The Starter Pack,” this DLC package contains all kinds of different items that are supposed to help newcomers overcome early gridning sessions more easily. The exact list of items looks like this:
- Mega Potion x50
- Honey x30
- Mega Dash Juice x15
- Well-done Steak x30
- Max Potion x10
- Lifepowder x20
- Ancient Potion x5
- Flash Bomb x30
- Sonic Bomb x30
- Pitfall Trap x15
- Shock Trap x15
- Super Mushroom x6
To access the contents of the “Starter Pack” all you have to do is talk to the Housekeeper and then go to the “Downloadable Content” section. Also, after getting through the early stages of the game, if you bring the Super Mushroom item to the weapon smith, you should be able to acquire either a Mario or Luigi outfit for your cat companion, and an Invincible Hammer. Unfortunately, you’ll have to choose which outfit to get because of the limited amount of available materials. If you want both costumes, then you should wait for a specific DLC quest set to be available in the near future.
