While America celebrated its independence with a day full of hot dog eating, the real smorgasbord was on the 3DS and Wii U eShops. That’s because a bevy of new downloads and discounts made their debut yesterday!
This week’s big Virtual Console highlight is SNES classic Pilotwings on the Wii U. The 3DS also received a trio of Game Gear Virtual Console offerings in Sonic Drift 2, Vampire: Master of Darkness, and G-LOC: Air Battle.
In honor of the recent release of Mighty Switch Force 2, Nintendo and developer WayForward are dropping the price of earlier games in the series with a couple of discounts. The original Mighty Switch Force is now available for $3.99 on the 3DS while Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition on Wii U is available for the discounted price of $6.67. Both discounts will expire at 9 a.m. PT on July 11, so hurry and get ’em while they’re cheap!
Those aren’t the only discounts available, however. Order Up!! and Planet Crashers on the 3DS will also be available at a discount price of $4.99 starting at 9 a.m. PT on July 8 until 9 a.m. PT on July 22.
Rounding out this week’s releases are Deer Hunting King and Fishdom H20: A Hidden Odyssey both on the 3DS. There’s also a demo for Crazy Construction, as well.
