As if we needed any more proof that Japan continues to get the coolest video game hardware, Nintendo has announced two special edition 3DS XL designs inspired by Pokémon X and Y.
Following the special Eevee-themed 3DS XL that was released in Japan this past May, the two new designs will launch alongside Pokémon X and Y on October 13. The blue system, which features both Xerneas and Yveltal, the two legendary Pokémon who adorn the games’ boxes, on the front, will be available at retailers around the country, while the golden one can only be purchased from Pokémon Center stores. Both will also come with a copy of Pokémon X or Y preinstalled on the hardware.
What do you think of these new 3DS designs? Which one do you prefer? Let us know in the comments!

Sigh; what else is new for Nintendo fans not in Japan?
The gold one is too nice to be relegated to just Japan. I really hope Nintendo brings it over here.
wow, the blue one is really cool!
Still wishing they’d announce a localized Eevee 3DS. I probably would buy it then.
