Following reports that Nintendo has begun distributing development kits for its next-generation games console, the NX, the company has also launched a new web portal for its developers program.
The new site, developer.nintendo.com, offers little in the way of hints as to what NX might hold in store for fans, but it does allow studios and individuals to register as Nintendo developers, giving them access to Nintendo development tools and other resources. It is also much more informative and visually appealing than the company’s previous developer website, warioworld.com, which will no doubt help welcome in more prospective developers.
Together with the news that NX development kits are now in developers’ hands, it’s clear Nintendo has set its sights on the future. It will still be a while before we get our first glimpse at the mysterious new system, which will be unveiled at the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo, but it’s already easy to get swept up in the hype surrounding it.
