In a world of frequent updates for both hardware and games, another way for information to leak out has emerged: data mining. Some resourceful gamers dig through untold lines of code for clues about what’s to come, and one popular Nintendo miner might have found something interesting.
Data miner NWPlayer123, who is most well known for delving into Splatoon, revealed that a fellow miner has uncovered a Wii U Home Screen icon for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. While the discovery contains no direct information, it does include an slightly recolored version of the image used as the games original box art in some regions. Of course, this has led to plenty of speculation about what this could mean, from it being a simple error to a hint at a future HD remake, though a more reasonable guess might be that Twilight Princess will get a digital release, much like Super Mario Galaxy 2 or Punch-Out!!.
Hopefully we’ll learn the truth behind this image soon enough, so be sure to check back for more.
