We didn’t have to wait long for a megaton announcement from today’s Nintendo Direct– the broadcast began with a trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, which will be coming to Nintendo 3DS and 2DS in spring 2015.
Like Ocarina of Time 3D before it, Majora’s Mask 3D is a stereoscopic remake of the classic Nintendo 64 title. According to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, the development team has done its best to maintain the original game’s difficulty while updating its visuals. Players will have three days to save the land of Termina, which is doomed to be destroyed by the moon unless Link can halt its descent.

Hells yes! I’ve been looking forward to this since before the 3DS even came out.
On an unrelated note, they mentioned Flipnote Studio (storyboards for Pikmin short films) but made no mention of Flipnote Studio 3D. Wasn’t that due to launch over a year ago? Our poor, neglected Hatena accounts and communities have shriveled up and blown away…
Count me in for the Majora’s Mask remake! That was (by far) the highlight of the recent Nintendo Direct for me.
@penduin:
My opinion? Flipnote Studio 3D is never coming out in the West so has been quietly left to die. The Swapnote scandal/shutdown a year or two ago pretty much sealed that deal. Sad, because Flipnote was an app I would’ve enjoyed a great deal.
At least we’ve still got the excellent Colors! 3D (despite that being an apples/oranges comparison).
