GameStop is offering fans who preorder either the standard or special editions of Metroid: Samus Returns a free Samus keychain, something that may interest those of you planning on picking up a physical copy of the game.
The keychain, seeen below, is a pleasingly retro throwback to Samus’ design in the original game:
North American gamers can also pick up a special edition of the game from select retailers and while stocks last, which includes a CD featuring 25 tracks from the Metroid franchise. Of course, this doesn’t quite match up to the Legacy Edition that we Europeans will be getting.
You can find details on the game’s Amiibo functionality here and, while on the whole I am excited about Samus’ return, it’s not necessarily destined to be a classic — be sure to check out Robert’s concerns on the game here.
Announced by Nintendo during its E3 Treehouse Live stream, Metroid: Samus Returns is a 3DS remake of the classic Gameboy game, Metroid II: The Return of Samus. It has an upcoming release date of September 15.
