Get a head start on your expedition into the Forbidden Lands!
Back in September, Capcom announced that Monster Hunter Wilds would be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026. It’s tantalizingly close to launch, but in order to give fans plenty of time to acclimate themselves to the game, or to simply preview it before pulling the trigger on a purchase, Capcom has released a special prologue demo for fans to sink their teeth into. Here’s the trailer:
The demo features the full opening of Monster Hunter Wilds. This includes the game’s character creator, where players can create their own custom Hunter and Palico to adventure with. Hunters can also catch a taste of the narrative and the action by venturing into the Windward Plains. The demo is offline only, but players can form a party using wireless local play to sample the multiplayer experience. Finally, your progress will carry over to the full game, so you won’t have to abandon all the hard work you put into the demo.
If you sneak in a pre-order, you’ll get the Guild Knight Set layered armor and Hope Charm Talisman as bonuses, as well as a $29.99 early adopters discount. Physical copies of Monster Hunter Wilds will also be available with an MSRP of $39.99.
