Dual Fusion Expansion Comes to Pokémon TCG Pocket Next Week

New cards, new rules, and more!

A new expansion is coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket next week. The popular mobile game regularly updates with new sets of cards for fans to collect, and the newest, Dual Fusion, will arrive in the game starting October 28, 2026. You can take a look at what’s to come in this new trailer:

The set itself is notable for being the first to introduce dual-type Pokémon cards. The Pokémon Company International notes that there will be designs based on Pikachu and Charizard, as well as other popular Pocket Monsters like Mewtwo and Blastoise. Here’s a glimpse at some of the lovely cards you’ll have the chance to pull:

The set itself seems interesting enough, but it’s the big update to the game that will have more impact. In a letter released earlier this month, the producer of the game detailed a range of changes coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket. You can get the full details here, but broadly these changes include:

  • 1. A New Card-Collecting Experience
    • Immersive Cards Obtainable as Mission Rewards Arrive
    • Special Pack: First Partners Arrives
    • ★1 Promo Cards Arrive
  • 2. Updates to the Battling Experience
    • New Feature: Community Decks
    • Making Rental Decks Easier to Use
    • Limited Battle Events Will Be Added
  • 3. Making Trading and Sharing Easier to Enjoy
