The Virtual Console service has already delivered some of Game Boy Advance’s best titles to Wii U. So far, however, all of them have been from Nintendo. Thanks to the Australian Classification Board, we recently discovered that Konami will bring Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow to Wii U, and they’ve now revealed two more third party titles on the way. The board has rated Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue and White, meaning that they’ll both be headed to the Virtual Console very soon.
The news does raise some intriguing questions. The twin titles are the third in the series, which has to make fans wonder whether we’ll see either of the earlier Mega Man Battle Network titles beforehand. Additionally, this is the first time we’ll see two versions of the same game come to the Virtual Console service. It will be interesting to see if this makes Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire more likely to appear. The way in which Nintendo makes Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue and White compatible on the service might provide a glimpse of how the company could do this with Pokémon.

I also wonder why Capcom isn’t starting with the original Mega Man Battle Network or, preferably, Mega Man Battle Network 2. Personally, I’d start with 2, because it improves on the original in so many ways (and it’s an awesome game in its own right). Having 100 percent completed MMBN1 (even getting the Dropdown chip without the chip trader), I think newcomers to the series would connect with it better if they started with MMBN2.
