It was revealed during this morning’s impromptu Mario Kart 8 Nintendo Direct that those who purchase the title and register it with their Club Nintendo accounts will have the opportunity to download a free Wii U game!
European players are getting a larger selection of ten games to choose from, while North Americans can select from a list of four. Regardless of which continent you find yourself living on, the offerings are more than amicable, and make MK8 a real value purchase, if nothing else! The offer is valid from the release of MK8 to July 31. Check out the full list of available games below, and let us know if it makes you more inclined to pick up Mario Kart 8 on May 30!

I have all of them too. Sucks that the people who support Nintendo the most don’t get any reward. I wish they had just given an e-shop credit and let people choose which games they want.
Great promotion, but I really wish the selection was as large in the US. For those of you who haven’t played Pikmin 3, I’d recommend it!
I own all of the US games aside from Wii Party U, so I think this promotion may end up not getting used on my part.
And I JUST bought Wind Waker. I regret nothing; I just wish this had been announced sooner! This would be the perfect way to grab Wonderful 101, which I’m still on the fence about. But as a yankee, I’m stuck with Wii Party U as the only one I don’t have yet. Meh.
I second Toadlord’s Pikmin 3 recommendation, and for you lucky Europeans I’d add Sonic Lost World too. Very underrated, and the free DLC is spectacular.
So a possible deal for Canadians:
* FutureShop was selling both Rayman Legends and Assassin’s Creed 4 (Wii U) for $20.
* EB Games was offering a “trade 2 worth $15+, get 1 game free” deal for Mario Kart 8.
* As of last week, those two games had trade values of $15+… although not sure if that’s changed. (So please confirm current trade values with EB Games before buying if interested.)
Not too shabby: $40 out of pocket (assuming you can find games in stock) could net you MK8 and a digital game of your choice. Pretty hot deal!
