Next Friday, Nintendo’s Amiibo figures will arrive in stores around North America. Fans looking to snag the entire set might have a hard time, as some figures will apparently be more difficult to acquire than others. Luckily, fans will have another avenue to pick up the collectible figures thanks to a partnership between Nintendo and Loot Crate. The partnership will allow fans to subscribe to a service that will deliver ten different Amiibo figures to their door. The figures will be separated into three shipments.
For those unfamiliar with the service, Loot Crate provides monthly subscribers with a variety of items that appeal to fans of comic books, video games, science fiction, and more. Normal Loot Crate packages can include t-shirts, books, magnets, and several other goodies you might find at your average Hot Topic or Urban Outfitters store. Whether or not each Amiibo crate will include anything other than the figures remains to be seen.
Details on the offer remain sparse at this time. The first five Amiibo included in the offer are believed to be Mario, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Star Fox. Loot Crates often feature exclusive items, so it might even be possible that we’ll see some form of variant figure released through the service. Perhaps we’ll see Mario in his Fire Flower suit? Or Link sporting a blue tunic? There are certainly a number of possibilities!
If you’re interested in finding out more, Loot Crate’s website has a place for fans to put themselves on an information waiting list. Does this sound like something you’d be interested in subscribing to? As always, let us know in the comments below!
