New Pokémon games have always heralded big happenings in the Pokémon anime. Heck, even Pokémon Snap inspired a couple of episodes, back in the day! While Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire aren’t technically brand new games, they’ll still get some spotlight in the form of an all-new animated short airing in Japan this weekend.
The short is scheduled to air before a re-airing of the movie Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys. The short will feature a battle between Deoxys and Raquaza, a pair of legendary Pokémon that originally debuted in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Brendan and May, the protagonists from both the original games and their upcoming remakes, will also take center stage in the short. Finally, the film’s broadcast will also showcase clips from the upcoming 3DS remakes. We’ve mirrored the trailer for the short below!
The special will air November 16 in Japan. A US release is currently unknown.
