Nintendo’s Amiibo are still a week and a half a way from seeing the light of day,  but the company has already revealed the third wave of figures which will hit store shelves in Japan and North America in February of 2015. This set is made all the more interesting by the inclusion of third party characters.

This wave of figures will include Lucario, Rosalina, Bowser, Toon Link, Sheik, Ike, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Shulk, Sonic, and Mega Man. Nintendo also stated that several characters will only be available through specific retailers, though it has yet to specify which ones. World travelers will also be pleased to hear that Amiibo will not be region locked, so an Amiibo purchased anywhere in the world will work with any system, regardless of where it was purchased.

Be sure to be on the lookout for more specifics on these figures, and future Amiibo related announcements.

    Toadlord says...

Wow, Dedede and Meta Knight look really good from this batch.

I have to admit that I was definitely not interested in amiibo when they were officially unveiled, but I’ve come around a bit. So far I’m sold on Donkey Kong and I’m considering Samus at a later date. I really wanted Captain Falcon but his stand really ruins it for me. At least with DK I can pretend he’s jumping off an ice cube from Tropical Freeze.

Olimar will probably also be a must-buy unless they screw him up somehow.
