So, there’s a few new Nintendo games out, with Mario and Link and their friends. But you know what series doesn’t have a new game? F-Zero. It’s been ten years now, for crying out loud! Captain Falcon must return outside of stripped-down portable titles and minigames! Smash Bros. doesn’t count! Okay, so maybe Nintendo doesn’t understand why F-Zero fans want more, but I hope they will come around very soon.
Anyways, for the Track of the Week this time, enjoy my personal favorite piece from F-Zero GX on GameCube. The high-flying techno tunes of Aeropolis are enough to make you want to go sign up for your nearest Grand Prix ASAP. Just listen to the triumphant climax at around the 1:17 mark below. It’s best enjoyed blaring over your car stereo while passing other drivers on the highway.
Nice track! For me, no F-Zero tune matches “Big Blue”, but where that’s all nostalgia, “Aeropolis” gets me thinking forward. It has that distinctive and awesome “Sega techno” character to it, and makes me hope there’s some slim chance that Sega and Nintendo’s extra-chummy relationship of late means they might pull off a true sequel to GX.
everything about this game is freaking awesome, this trence.techno ispired track works very well with the high technologically stage. Nintendo please make another f zero game with sega!
