Larpers and Lord of the Rings aficionados alike may want to plan for a leave of absence in early 2014 as Warner Bros entertainment has confirmed a spring release date for yet another entry in their popular Lego series, Lego: The Hobbit. The title will seemingly be coming to every platform under the sun which, lucky for us, will include Nintendo’s 3DS and Wii U.
First revealed in a leaked French ad scan and later confirmed by Warner itself the new title will forego Tolkien’s original text, instead covering the content of the first two movies in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy of films. This may come as disappointing news for some Middle Earth purists, but also means that a sequel which covers the content of the last movie is almost a surety and, let’s face it, more Lego games is never a bad thing.
