3) Vermilion City (Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow)

Once upon a time, this was my absolute favorite Pokémon town tune. It still is one of my favorites, but I just couldn’t put it in my top two. The Red/Blue/Yellow version (linked above) is just so stellar. It’s the right pace, it’s got a really good sound to it that is textured and heroic, and it’s the first song that I heard in the game that made me think “Wow, this soundtrack is pretty awesome.” It’s the one that made me stand up and take notice of the greatness of the music from Pokémon. So if I think so highly of it, why does it fall to only number three? Unfortunately, the other versions just didn’t stack up. In other words, I really did not like the Gold/Silver and HeartGold/SoulSilver variation of it. It was too slow and dragged out for my liking. I was okay with the FireRed/LeafGreen version.
