5) Cinnabar Island (Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver)
Just in case you couldn’t see the trend, I love the music in seaside towns in this series. They always seem to bring something to the table that makes me happy and want to stay in that city/town just a little bit longer. Cinnabar City is no exception. While the first generation version of the song is nice, it’s not until the FireRed/LeafGreen version where it gets really good. That little intro and the textured melodies really go a long way into upping the ante for this song. However, what made this song make it this high, is the HeartGold/SoulSilver version above, which is a slowed down, mournful tune, playing like a soothing lullaby to the former residents who lost their homes and live within that volcano eruption. It never fails to stir a little emotion in me when I approach Blue standing there, giving his little monologue.
