Best Moment No.2 — Miyamoto’s Entrance

Miyamoto always makes the best entrances when it comes to E3. It’s a tradition that’s been running for many years now, with one of the most memorable being 2010’s Skyward Sword demo. He appeared early on in a pre-recorded video talking about how he once came to E3 bearing Link’s Master Sword and Hylian Shield (another great entrance after they revealed Twilight Princess for the first time in 2004), and we all thought this would be the extent of his involvement that year. But oh no. When his interpreter kept messing up Skyward Sword‘s swordplay, Miyamoto sliced through a screen and suddenly materialised on-stage to show him how it’s done. The crowd went wild.

Fast forward to this year, and Miyamoto makes another classic entrance, this time with hoards of Pikmin rummaging through his dressing room and falling down his suit pockets. We may have known Pikmin 3 would come up at E3 this year, but who could have predicted we’d be treated to this frankly adorable introduction. Keep ’em coming, Miyamoto!
