4. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
While Solid Snake made a major splash on the original PlayStation, the character hadn’t appeared on a Nintendo system since the days of the NES. Silicon Knights and Konami collaborated to bring Snake’s incredibly popular title to the Nintendo masses, and the resulting effort was a fantastic update for a game that most already considered a classic. The team kept the first game’s beloved storyline, while adding gameplay elements from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
While Snake’s appearances on Nintendo systems have been quite limited since, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes did set the wheels in motion for the character to appear as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
