Atlus Confirms Conception 2: Children of the Stars for 3DS

Make babies to save the world!

I’m sure everyone was puzzled last week when Atlus launched a teaser site featuring an ultrasound image of a fetus. Yet, I’m pleased to announce that this form of viral marketing finally makes sense now, as Conception 2: Children of the Stars has been confirmed for 3DS in spring 2014. That’s one more JRPG to join the 3DS’ library of games!

Now, while I said that this makes sense, I may utterly confuse you when I try to explain to you the concept of this game. You see, the main character in this game is part of a group of people called the Disciples that have the special ability of fighting monsters coming from Pandora Labyrinth. The only way the protagonist, as a gifted Disciple, can fight off these monsters is by joining with several heroines to create what the game calls star children. You heard that right, folks. You must make babies to save the world!

If you are wondering what gave birth this odd baby-making JRPG, then it is important to note that this is the first game in the series that has gotten localized overseas. Yes, the premise sounds ridiculously weird. But, is that going to stop me from purchasing it when it comes out? Hell no!

Are you excited for the oddity that is Conception 2: Children of the Stars? Let us know in the comments below!

I just hope Spring 2014 is (at least) a few weeks after Bravely Default is released. I am definitely getting this, pending a review or two to make sure it’s up to usual Atlus standards. The Japanesier the JRPG the better.

I agree! There’s a certain allure from the weirdness of these games. I’m hoping Conception 2 will play like a version of Fire Emblem: Awakening that admits its a dating sim, but only time will tell if it is a quality experience! I have to say though, the turned based combat looks promising so far.
