It’s totally all right to not pick a favorite most of the time, but let’s just be honest here: when it comes to video games, favorites are not only expected, they’re essential. I mean, that’s the whole point of this week, isn’t it? Picking favorites? Well, there’s nothing more divisive than picking the favorite years of gaming. So that’ll be our poll this week.
Will it be 1985-1990, the years of Super Mario Bros. and Punch-Out!? Or will it be 1991-1995, where Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy II IV reigned supreme? Maybe the years of Star Fox 64 perk up your trigger fingers, or maybe those of Star Fox Assault or Command. (Not sure why we’re using Star Fox here.) Whatever it is, one era out of Nintendo’s many is bound to pique your interest. Choose carefully, friends. Because what you pick is what we’ll judge you on.
Also, no fair on saying “back in the 19th-century Hanafuda days.” Besides, nobody will believe you.
