In today’s daily Super Smash Bros. update, game director Masahiro Sakurai detailed a 3DS-specific stage based on Super Mario 3D Land. In the update, he explained that this is a moving stage, and included four screenshots from the stage to show the progression. The screenshots show Kirby and Mega Man battling in 3D Land, sometimes on solid ground, sometimes on floating platforms. There is a lot of variety in the stage, and hopefully we will see some of the same platforming elements from 3D Land at play in this stage (maybe the moving green switch platforms?).
It is interesting to see all of these version- specific stages, and it makes me wonder if we can expect to see a Super Mario 3D World stage in the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. Maybe it could be a moving stage as well, but only if one section is an epic showdown on the back of Plessie. What do you think of this stage? Let us know in the comments below!

The best thing about this reveal was Sakurai’s commentary: “You can consider this something extra from me on the side”
