Some Club Nintendo Platinum Members Receiving Tomodachi Life Early Access

Nintendo has started sending out Tomodachi Life demos to select Club Nintendo members.

Nintendo’s new 3DS life simulation game Tomodachi Life will be releasing in a few weeks, but some members of its online reward service Club Nintendo have already received codes for early access to the game. It seems that these codes are being sent to members who currently have Platinum status (achieved by registering a lot of Nintendo products). The code unlocks an unlimited use demo for the game, and if you play the demo leading up to the game’s release, you will be able to transfer your Mii to the full game and even receive a bonus gift. Tomodachi Life releases on June 6.

I’m looking forward to the release of Tomodachi Life and I must admit I’m a little bummed I didn’t receive an early access code. Maybe if I turn a bunch of game codes in over the next few days Nintendo will change its mind…

I read on another website that it was only going out to those who had platinum status AND who had ALSO previously registered Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Not sure if that’s true.

I’ve achieved platinum status for four consecutive years, am sitting on over 1800 coins and have NOT received a Tomodachi code. I was feeling a little bummed for not getting one, but I don’t own Animal Crossing so who knows….

“Select” appears to be the key word here. I’ve been a Platinum member every year since Club Nintendo started and have registered New Leaf as well as City Folk and Wide World, and I haven’t received a code either. Granted, I wasn’t planning on picking up the game anyway, so it not a huge loss for me.
