Hyrule Warriors will release for the Wii U in Japan on August 14, a new issue of Famitsu has revealed. An excerpt of the magazine story reveals not only the date, but a brief overview of the story. Keen eyes can definitely recognize Impa, resembling her Skyward Sword iteration in the article, as well as a new character that reminds me of the enigmatic Poe Merchant from Ocarina of Time. Check out the pictures below.
Now, we can’t read Japanese, but some digging for a translation has revealed some new information about Hyrule Warriors. According to what some NeoGAF users dug up, here are a few new story details.
Zelda has been kidnapped by a new villain, a witch named Shia, and Link is off to rescue her. Impa will appear as a playable ally, as well as some other “unexpected” characters. One of the game locations will be Hyrule Field.
That’s all the scant information we have right now, but it would daft not to assume that Nintendo is going to completely blow the lid off Hyrule Warriors at E3. Perhaps we shall find out when this game comes out in the West? We can’t wait!
