If you have been looking for a way to take selfies with Mario, you are in luck. Nintendo has just released a 3DS AR photo app called Photos with Mario, which lets you use special AR cards (available for purchase at Target) to take pictures with AR versions of Mario characters. Three cards are currently available: one for Mario, one for Peach, and one for a Goomba. In Japan, where the game has been available since April of last year, there are three more character cards, but there is no word on whether or not these cards will make their way over here as well.
The AR camera was a pretty big feature when 3DS first released. I remember toying with the AR cards that came with the system and having fun, but haven’t used it much since then. It’s cool to see Nintendo continue to support this feature, and the free apps with cards is a good model. Is this something you would use frequently if it got more support?
