Sonic is celebrating his 35th anniversary in 2026, so it only seemed natural that there would be some kind of Blue Blur hulabaloo during Summer Game Fest, right? Well, we did get a couple of announcements, although nothing akin to Sonic Frontiers getting a Definitive Edition or a remake of Sonic CD. If you’re curious what was announced, give this trailer a watch:
First up, we have six new collaborations coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (which is really great, by the way). For a refresher, here are the six that fans got during Season Pass One. Note that the graphics says the lineup is complete, but the characters are not all available just yet, with TMNT and Avatar still on the way:

And for year two, SEGA says that fans can look forward to both Godzilla and Evangelion to make an appearance. The trailer showed off tracks sporting these themes, but no word yet on racers or vehicles, and so on.

No word on when Godzilla or Evangelion will hit, but expect them at the earliest to come around Christmas, but more likely later than that.
The other big announcement was Sonic Pico Park. It’s shown off in the trailer above, but here’s another look at the game in motion:
Sonic Pico Park is a collaboration with (you already guessed it) Pico Park, which saw its first and second installments hit Nintendo Switch back in 2019 and 2024, respectively. Sonic Pico Park is a co-op puzzle platformer that can handle up to eight players. The Sonic representation includes the Blue Blur and his pals Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. No release date just yet for this one, but we’ll keep you all posted.
