Looks like The Wonderful 101 may be difficult to find for Japanese Wii U owners.
The quirky action hero game, which is being developed by Platinum Games (MadWorld, Bayonetta), is reportedly only shipping about around 30,000 copies in Japan. Of course, this is not a confirmed report, but if it is true, then it looks as if someone doesn’t have much confidence in the game’s ability to do well in Japan. And if the report is true and the game does end up catching on overseas, there could be something much akin to the fiasco with Xenoblade Chronicles that has ensued here in North America. Let’s just hope there are no retailers looking to exploit gamers and set ridiculous prices on the game.
The Wonderful 101 launches in Europe on August 23, in Japan on August 24, and in North America on September 15.

Hopefully this is a misunderstanding or massive mistake. Even Lego City has sold more than 30K in Japan. If this is true hopefully there will be more demand. I would hate to see this game bomb.
Maybe a push for digital sales?
The game will probably be fun… but everything I’ve seen screams “commercial bomb”. Nintendo’s lack of marketing prowess in recent years doesn’t do anything to improve the outlook.
