Japanese sales for the next big Wii U exclusive are in and they’re looking quite strong, to say the least. That’s because Pikmin 3 sold an impressive 92,700 copies in retail sales in the game’s first two days available. While estimates aren’t in for download sales, this was more than enough for the title to claim the top spot on the week’s sales charts.
The title gave the Wii U a nice boost in console sales, as well. 22,199 Wii U consoles found new homes that same week. Additionally, Nintendo systems also accounted for four out of the top five games of the week. Joining Pikmin 3 were New Super Luigi U and 3DS titles Youkai Watch and Tomodachi Collection: New Life.

I’m very impressed with this. Hopefully there’ll be more big titles to boost Wii U sales!
