3DS’s release calendar may already be packed with a number of great titles, but it looks like RPG fans now have one more game to add to their wish lists– Atlus has confirmed today that its next 3DS title, Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, will be arriving in North America on October 1.
Unlike other installments of the series, Etrian Odyssey Untold is a remake of the very first Etrian Odyssey game. Among its many additions is a brand new Story Mode, which features five premade characters (as opposed to the custom heroes that you create at the beginning of every other Etrian Odyssey title) and a host of other refinements, including a stronger narrative and a new orchestral soundtrack. Fans of the classic Etrian Odyssey gameplay, however, can play through the adventure in Classic Mode, which features the same custom characters and open-ended dungeon crawling (albeit with some graphical improvements) as in the original game.
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl will be available both at retail and in the eShop for $39.99.

I never doubted this would come West, since the series seems to be gaining in popularity with each installment. I’m guessing there will be some sort of limited edition /first run bonus like recent Atlus titles; I can’t imagine a soundtrack wouldn’t be part of it.
