We may be halfway through 2013, but the “Year of Luigi” finally begins in earnest today with the release of New Super Luigi U, a downloadable add-on for New Super Mario Bros. U.
Unlike the Wii U launch title, New Super Luigi U stars Mario’s lankier green brother and replaces the original game’s 80-plus levels with entirely new ones, introducing a host of new elements (and a scant 100-second time limit) for an added challenge. That’s not to say the game is only for platforming veterans, though– the DLC also features Nabbit, the adorable little bandit from the original title, as a playable character. Unlike the other heroes, Nabbit is impervious to damage, making him the perfect character for less skilled players. You can check out these features and more in the trailer below!
Only players who own a copy of New Super Mario Bros. U can purchase the digital version New Super Luigi U, but fear not– a retail version of the game (with its own swanky green box) will be launching on July 26 in Europe and August 25 in North America.
Will you be downloading New Super Luigi U, or are you holding off until the game’s retail release? Let us know in the comments!
I don’t support digital distribution really. I’m too much a collector. Plus the green box looks too cool. So going physical all the way.
i feel the same way, that green box with the anniversary logo is just too sweet.
I’ll be getting both :)
