Deliver digital pets to anxious customers!
Petal Runner is a coming-of-age story that I first got to check out at Summer Game Fest a couple of years ago. At the time, its future as a console title was unknown, but the Game Boy Color-era inspired visuals and Pokémon-inspired trappings made it seem like a shoe in for Nintendo Switch. Flash forward to now and Petal Runner is a Nintendo Switch 2 console exclusive (it’ll be on PC, as well) with a March 8, 2027 release date. Give it a look in this trailer:
Described as having a solarpunk aesthetic, Nano Park’s Petal Runner centers on the duo of Cali and Kira. Kira is a nominal Petal Runner, which is an elite motorcycle delivery outfit. Players work to deliver people their orders of digital pets against the backdrop of a sinister corporate mystery. Sapphire Valley has four distinct regions to explore, each with its own unique color palette to enjoy. Side quests, mysteries, ghost hunts, heists, missing persons, concerts gone wrong; there’s a lot to see and do in Petal Runner, not the least of which being the gaggle of digital pets to meet, deliver, and help settle into new homes. The should be on the radars of Pokémon and adventure game fans alike next spring.
