The new version of Nintendo Wii, known as Wii Mini, is unfortunately not going to be making its way overseas to the UK. In fact, according to Nintendo Life, Wii Mini isn’t going anywhere except the land of hockey and moose– Canada.
Nintendo UK’s head of marketing, James Honeywell, confirmed the news during the midnight launch for Wii U in the UK, but it still remains to be seen whether Wii Mini will make its way to other regions in the future.
I was hoping to get one of these – I presume it won’t be too expensive but region locking is irritating.
If it works in Canada it will probably work in the US. Is it worth the cost to import? Thought?
I’ll be buying one for no reason other than the collectibility of them. And even if they turn out not to be, meh, it’s only $100.
Agreed. That’s the same reason I bought a Gameboy Micro. Hopefully it gets released outside of Canada.
