Wii U owners in the United States and Canada will soon be able to access Nintendo TVii, the much-touted system of digital distribution allowing owners of the new console access to streaming services like Netflix and Hulu.
It will go online on December 20th, nearly a full month after Wii U was launched. Combined with the mandatory update on the first console boot, it suggests that perhaps Nintendo might have been planning to launch their new console slightly later, possibly having been forced forward to take advantage of the holiday season.
Still, it’s a reasonably exciting development and one which should give Wii U the first of its multimedia capabilities. Now bring on downloadable GameCube games and we’ll be content.
