Shantae: Risky’s Revenge is one of the biggest titles to hit the DSi Shop. Not only was it critically acclaimed, it generated significant sales to create a cult following. Risky’s Revenge is the sequel to the original Shantae on Game Boy Color. Both games are developed by the excellent WayForward.
Earlier today, WayForward confirmed via Twitter that Shantae will arrive on the 3DS Virtual Console in mid-June or early July.
The third entry in the series, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, will arrive on the 3DS eShop later this year.
Unfortunately, I have not had the time to enjoy this much-talked-about series. But now that the first title will be available, I will have to jump in before the third title hits the shelves!

I’ve been waiting for this one before I played Risky’s Revenge, mostly because I’m like that, and it’s not like I’m lacking for stuff to play in the meantime. With this and the two Zelda titles, GBC is starting to get its heavyweights on the shop.
Excellent. I missed this when it first came out, and though I haunted the local used game store for a few months a couple of years ago, they never got it in.
Really looking forward to playing this now.
I still have my GBC copy of this. It’s fun but I’ve never really played it that much.
I missed this game the first time around, too, so I’m really looking forward to checking it out!
