Yoshihiro Mori, current general manager of Corporate Analysis and Administration, and Masaharu Matsumoto, current general manager of the General Affairs Division will both retire in the coming summer. Tatsumi Kimishima, current chairman and CEO of Nintendo of America and one of the directors of Nintendo Co., Ltd., will assume the responsibilities of these positions in addition to becoming Nintendo’s managing director. These changes will happen this summer.
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s global president, will assume Kimishima’s current responsibilities and become the CEO of Nintendo of America. Reggie Fils-Aime will continue in his position as president of Nintendo of America.
I doubt that these moves will affect Nintendo in the grand scheme of things: the major players remain unchanged. I do hope that these moves will bring more of Japan’s exclusives here to the West!
