There was a time when the various Pokémon spin-offs were all very well received. Games like Pokémon Snap and Pokémon Pinball helped push the series into new and interesting genres. While the main series continues to set critical and commercial records, the same hasn’t been said about the various spin-offs for quite some time.
Bucking this trend, however, was Pokémon Conquest with its unique blend of elements from Nobunaga’s Ambition and Pokémon. Could the popular mash-up be getting a sequel? Tecmo Koei’s new Executive Vice President, Hisashi Koinuma, strongly hinted at the possibility when he answered a fan question regarding a potential sequel via Twitter. Koinuma vaguely stated: “Well, there was a lot of unfinished material for Pokémon Conquest…”
While this hardly offers us anything definitive, it is interesting to see that the possibility is on the table.
