Shadows of the Eternals, the spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness, is coming to Wii U and PC via Kickstarter sometime in 2014. The catch? The horror game will be released in an episodic format: twelve two-to-four hour long episodes that will make the game easier to digest.

Developer Precursor is trying to raise $1.35 million via Kickstarter to fund the project. Precursor COO Shawn Jackson and CEO Paul Caporicci breaks down the development cost of the first pilot episode of Shadows of the Eternals:

Out of the requested $1.35 million, Shadows of the Eternals has received just over $90,000, with 26 days remaining in its Kickstarter campaign.

My thoughts on this break down? Kickstarter is scary expensive!
