Just when it seemed new information on Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U had slowed to a trickle, Nintendo cryptically announced that it will be announcing a new character for the games this coming Monday, July 14.
While details on the announcement are currently scarce, we do know that it will be approximately three minutes in length and will introduce a brand new fighter to the titles. Given the fact that the announcement was advertised several days in advance, it’s safe to assume the character in question will be a fairly major addition to the series.
The trailer is scheduled to begin at 7 AM Pacific Time, and can be streamed from Nintendo’s YouTube channel here. In the meantime, who do you think the new Super Smash Bros. fighter will be? Share your theories with us in the comments!

I think the newcomer I want most at this point that has any prayer of getting in would be King K. Rool. He’s one of my favorite video game villains, and he could have a fun moveset. The one thing that gives me hope is the fact that Kremlings are in Smash Run.
If I had to place a bet though, I would think we’d see Shulk tomorrow.
