Monster Hunter Frontier is the massively-multiplayer entry of Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise, previously released for PC and Xbox 360 in Japan. And now, according to Famitsu, the game is coming to Wii U and PlayStation 3 in December 2013.
This upgraded title, called Monster Hunter Frontier G, will feature new monsters, environments, and quests. It will play on different servers from the PC and Xbox 360 versions, so don’t expect any cross-platform play. The game, if downloaded, is free of charge to buy and has a monthly subscription fee (1400 yen for 30 days). Monster Hunter Frontier G has been given a release date of December 11, 2013 for Wii U and PlayStation 3.
While this news may be good for Monster Hunter fans, only get your hopes up if you live in Japan, as no Western release was hinted at. Given that the first version of Monster Hunter Frontier never came to America, it might be correct to assume that this one won’t either.
