Batman: Arkham Origins is to feature multiplayer on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. WB Interactive has announced that the Wii U version will not have multiplayer. According to a WB Interactive spokesperson, “The team is focusing development efforts on platforms with the largest multiplayer audience.”
With the recent announcements of the declining sales of Wii U, WB Interactive’s announcement makes sense. The market seems to be losing faith in the Wii U as a profitable console. More and more UK and US retailers are removing the Wii U basic bundle from sale. Will Nintendo’s upcoming releases of landmark games like Pikmin 3 revive the public’s faith in Wii U?
