For fans of the horror classic Eternal Darkness, it looks as if the game could be receiving a digital re-release sometime in the near future.
According to Siliconera, Nintendo has already gone ahead and re-registered the trademark for the game on July 23. While this is sometimes pretty standard practice, what garners the most interest and speculation is that it includes digital downloads. Nintendo currently has no announced plans to release the game on the Wii U Virtual Console, but it is still worth keeping an eye out for just in case.
This could also tie into Precursor Games’ crowdfunded project Shadow of the Eternals, which is considered to be a spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness, so stay tuned for what this all could possibly mean.

Perhaps it is just to curtail use of Eternal Darkness in marketing by Precursor. I would certainly love to see this classic get a revisit, though.
