Mario Kart 8 Mercedes DLC Racing to North America

Mario and friends will be getting a stylish new ride in Nintendo’s blockbuster kart racer.

Nintendo unveiled via Twitter today that the Mario Kart 8 Mercedes-themed DLC, which was announced for Japan last month, will also be arriving in North America and Europe later this summer.

Details on the new kart are scarce at the moment, as the company has yet to announce when it will be available and whether or not it will cost anything to download, but it has already been confirmed that the DLC will be released for free in Japan, so that will presumably be the case when it arrives in other regions.

The internet kind of had a conniption about the existence of this DLC, but it’s probably one of the funnier uses of advertising I’ve ever seen. If it’s still free, I’ll absolutely download it. And for those that hate the product placement, they can avoid it. Works for everyone. And the video is awesome.
