People took notice when Pokémon creator Game Freak teased a brand new game that promised to be some sort of fusion involving a game with worldwide appeal. Now it has revealed this new title and it is probably safe to say that it is not what anybody was expecting.
Solitiba is a mix of horse raising with solitaire, two things that definitely are in keeping with the promise from the initial tease. Gameplay will be divided into two parts, controlling your horse and playing solitaire. The horse portion will have you drawing out your steed’s path with the touchscreen, while the solitaire parts have you playing a game of solitaire where how well you are doing affects your horse’s performance. Outside of racing and card games you can raise your horse and then share it with the world thanks to the magic of QR codes.
Solitiba will be released in Japan for the 3DS eShop on July 31st for the low price of 500 Yen. So far there is no mention of a release outside of Japan and considering the sheer strangeness of this title I wouldn’t exactly say it is a lock for localization, though weirder things have happened.
