Late last month, we reported that Ragnar Tørnquist, lead developer of Dreamfall Chapters, had expressed some interest in bringing the title to the Wii U. Well, that possibility seems to have come much closer to reality. Speaking with Edge Online, Tørnquist had some very positive things to say about Nintendo.
“Nintendo approached us last autumn, immediately after Dreamfall Chapters was announced – they were, in fact, the first console manufacturer to do so,” said Tørnquist. “At that point, however, we weren’t ready to make any commitments regarding engine and platforms, so we decided to wait. We got back in touch with Nintendo in late May of this year, and they were very interested in working with us.”
The developer is already working to find ways to implement GamePad functionality to the title, as well. “So far, they’ve been very helpful and supportive, and it’s been a painless and surprisingly rapid process,” added Tørnquist.
While this doesn’t guarantee that the title will land on Nintendo’s console, it is quite nice to see Nintendo aggressively pursuing developers to get new content on the Wii U. If they continue this strategy, a change in the Wii U’s current fortunes might not be out of the question. They’ll certainly have to stick with it as Microsoft and Sony’s new consoles make their debut this fall.

I believe that all great games would be nice on Nintendo consoles, and I’d love to play them some day on Wii U.
