You might recall that in March of this year, the Pokémon TV service shut down for good. It was a means of watching the popular Pokémon anime for free, both on mobile and Nintendo devices, but alas, all good things must come to an end. Except, now it seems fans will be offered something of a replacement for Pokémon TV in the form of a new partnership with franchise management company WildBrain. The deal will bring 22 seasons of the Pokémon anime in what WildBrain calls “single-IP FAST (free ad-supported television) channels.” Here’s a bit more from WildBrain on the matter:

The partnership will see WildBrain secure and launch new single-IP FAST channels with leading platforms across these regions for 22 seasons of the iconic original animated Pokémon series, featuring Ash Ketchum and his partner Pokémon, Pikachu. Fans will be able to follow the duo’s adventures as they aim to achieve Ash’s goal of becoming the world’s top Pokémon Trainer across multiple story arcs, including The Beginning (112 x 22’), Gold and Silver (157 x 22’), Ruby and Sapphire (191 x 22’), Diamond and Pearl (189 x 22’), Black and White (142 x 22’), XY (141 x 22’), and Sun and Moon (145 x 22’). WildBrain will also be selling select direct advertising inventory for the Pokémon channels through its Media Solutions team.

These channels will be appearing on platforms from Roku, Samsung, LG, Tubi, and Pluto. So, that’s pretty nice, eh? Fans will be able to sit and watch a couple of decades-worth of Pokémon for free (albeit with ads) on one of these services in the future. It doesn’t say when the show will begin airing on these FAST channels, but as we learn more, we’ll be sure to let you all know.
