“The movie, music, character merchandise, and more.”

Besides releasing the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, there’s a heck of a lot besides that going on in the world of Zelda. The movie is coming out on April 30, 2027; there are new Zelda toys coming from Hasbro next spring; 40th anniversary Zelda concerts kick off in January. This is all part of the larger 40th anniversary celebrations underway for the venerable franchise, and Nintendo is keen for fans to know that the good times won’t be stopping any time soon.
In the company’s latest financial results report, it had the following to say about Zelda’s 40th anniversary:

Over the course of this year and next, we will pursue a variety of initiatives to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. In addition to games, we will expand opportunities for consumers to experience its world through the movie, music, character merchandise, and more.
We will make the series even more appealing by offering different ways to enjoy it, both for those who cherish its earlier titles and for those discovering it for the first time.
Games is written in plural, we’d like to point out, not that any new announcements have been made. Regardless, it’s nice to know that fans have plenty of more Zelda goodness to look forward to in the coming year.
