When Funcom’s Dreamfall: The Longest Journey debuted on the PC and Xbox in 2006, the game was met with mixed reviews, to say the least. While some reviewers found the combat to be simplistic, others praised the depth of the narrative. But the game clearly developed a strong fanbase as a sequel was funded through Kickstarter. Wii U owners might get the opportunity to form their own opinions if the game comes to their console of choice.
Speaking with Robert Purchese of Eurogamer, lead developer Ragnar Tørnquist said that the publisher is looking at bringing the PC sequel to consoles. While Tørnquist made it clear that the PlayStation 4 had the most likely chance of hosting the title, he also pointed out that Funcom is in talks with Nintendo about the title coming to Wii U.
“We’re going to look at getting the game running on Wii U and then we’ll make decisions depending on how that goes and what we see the market possibilities are doing. Like I said, we don’t want to exclude anything, so we’ll try anything.”
As always, stay tuned to Nintendojo where we’ll have more as it develops.
